This one of two paddle boards available for the Enhanced PLC Gateway. This I/O board, the EPLCI I/O, is used for redundant communications in Allen-Bradley protocol.

For communications in Modbus protocol, or non-redundant communication in Allen-Bradley protocol, use the PLCI I/O.
